About the Owner Hilary Apple became Hilary the Pet Sitter in January 2002. Initially, she ran every aspect of the business, from performing the administrative tasks to meeting all the clients and performing all the pet sitting, 7 days a week, morning, noon, and night. As she grew the business, Hilary brought in additional help, at first for the busy holiday season, and now year-round, and then became Apple a Day Personal Pet Care. Before running Apple a Day, Hilary gained work experience by working in veterinary clinics, at the front desk and in the kennel. Before that, Hilary obtained her administrative and people skills by working various jobs, such as receptionist, grocery store floral department assistant, tanning salon attendant, etc., in Kansas City, where she called home until the summer of 2001. Hilary earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and continues to further her knowledge in pet care by being a member of the Austin Pet Sitters Organization. She has had a love for animals her whole life. Her unconditional love and passion for animals are the primary reasons for starting her own professional pet sitting service. Hilary's mission is to provide you and your pet(s) the least disruption, stress, and anxiety of being separated; while providing excellent loving care in the comfort of your own home always striving to be the very best substitute for you, while you're away. She wants you to know that all representatives of Apple a Day Personal Pet Care have been carefully screened (background and criminal checks) and will always meet the pets with Hilary before they begin caring for them. |

Kelly is from Austin.Yes, a native Austinite! She grew up in central Austin and attended the University of Texas. She taught second grade before moving to Denver and getting a job with Continental Airlines. Kelly still works for Continental at Bergstrom Airport. Jean Marc is from a small town in France, near Normandy. He grew up taking care of animals of all kinds. Kelly and Jean Marc share their SW Austin home with their retriever mix, Hambone. Kelly and Jean Marc are thrilled to be working with Hilary. It is a pleasure and a privilege to care for your pets while you are away. |

Melissa has worked with animals in both the public and private sector all of her adult life. From boarding kennels to shelter & rescue, and now in pet sittingand advocacy, Melissa finds life much more fulfilling when animals are around. She has 4 companion animals, one of which serves as a therapy animal. Melissa is pursuing degrees in Humane Education & Environmental so that she may contribute to a kinder world for all creatures. |
